Using an ai tutor instead of a real tutor… am I gonna regret this?

sooo my grades are mid and i 100% cannot afford a real tutor right now 😭

my friend keeps telling me to just use an ai tutor instead. like open some ai tutor online thing, drop my calc questions and let it explain. sounds cool, but also kinda cursed?

has anyone here actually used an ai tutor for a whole semester, not just for one random problem? did it help or did you just end up copying stuff and forgetting it the next day?

i’m lowkey scared i’ll rely on this ai tutor and then sit at the exam like “yeah i remember nothing”. real experiences pls, not promo talk.

bro i basically lived on an ai tutor last term 💀

for calc i’d mess with the problem first, then paste it and ask the ai tutor “what did i screw up here?”. when i actually read the explanation and re-wrote it in my own words, it helped a lot. when i didn’t… i flopped on the quiz lol.

so imo ai tutor is fine if you still do some brain work. if you just spam “solve this”, it turns into copy–paste mode and you learn nothing.

@late2class kinda agree, but also, not all ai tutor stuff is the same.

i tried some random free ai tutor bots on discord and they were hallucinating like crazy. then someone here dropped EduBrain and it felt more like an actual ai tutor for students, you can ask “explain step 2 again” and it doesn’t freak out.

so yeah, tool matters. an ai tutor can be awesome or totally useless depending on where you use it.

i use an ai tutor mainly at stupid o’clock when no one else is awake. it’s not perfect, but at 2am it’s either that or crying over my textbook 😅

the only time it backfired was physics: the ai tutor online mixed up units and i didn’t notice. my prof roasted my whole solution. now i double-check formulas on khan academy or wolfram before trusting any ai tutor answer.

funny thing, i barely touch ai tutor for math, but for writing it’s a life saver. i drop my draft in, ask the ai tutor “does this paragraph make sense?” and it points out weird transitions or messy structure.

i still write everything myself, just use the ai tutor as a picky editor. if you let it write whole essays tho, that’s when detectors and profs start going 🧐.
