my friend legit made a research buddy on getsolved
and it didn’t hallucinate anything
like actual real journals
not “dr. vibes phd” citations
i was shocked tbh

ngl sometimes youtube explainers give better info than half the papers
like tell me WHY the professor talks for 2 hours but the 8-min video clears everything
ok this is actually helpful
gonna try scholar + zotero
maybe that getsolved thing too cuz im tired of chasing fake citations 😭
y’all saved me fr
ngl an ai research assistant is only useful if you stop treating it like a magic paper machine and start treating it like a slightly nerdy friend.
i usually do this thing where I give it a topic and say:
“don’t write my essay, just give me 5 angles, 5 key terms, and 5 authors I should google.”
then I go to Google Scholar and my uni library myself.
the bot gives me a map, but I still drive the car, if that makes sense.
one cool hack with an ai research assistant for students is using it to unpack those scary 20-page PDFs. I’ll paste just the abstract and maybe the conclusion, then ask it stuff like “what problem is this paper trying to solve” and “who would disagree with this”.
after that, when I actually read the paper, I already know what to focus on instead of rereading the same paragraph ten times and crying.
