Using an ai tutor instead of a real tutor… am I gonna regret this?

one more thing no one talks about: ENERGY LEVELS 😂
when i go to a real tutor after classes, i’m already tired and socially dead
with an ai tutor app, i can ask “dumb” questions at 1am with zero shame

so for social anxiety ppl, an ai tutor chatbot is kinda nice
you can mess up, ask again, change your mind
no one is judging except your own guilt 😭

@coffee_zombie also depends on the subject tbh
for languages, ai tutor is good for vocab, making example sentences, fixing grammar
for math, i’m more careful – i always double-check with a calculator or textbook

so i’d say: use ai homework help & study tools to boost what you already know
if you use them to replace thinking completely, exams will expose you FAST 💀

my hot take:
a mid human tutor > a bad ai tutor
a good ai tutor > a mid human tutor

i had a “real” tutor who mostly scrolled their phone and told me to “just practice more” 🧍‍♀️
then i found an ai tutor online that actually broke down steps and gave examples that made sense

so yeah, if money is a problem, i’d rather pick a solid ai tutor app + youtube than a random bored human

alsooo don’t let ai tutor write full essays for you 😭
i tried once, it sounded SO fake
plus detectors are getting wild

now i use it more like:
“help me outline this essay”
“is this thesis clear?”
“can you make this paragraph less cringe but keep my ideas?”

that way it’s still my writing, just with less chaos

@late2class same experience tbh
calc with ai tutor = manageable
calc without ai tutor = i stared at the problem for 40 mins and cried

one trick i use:
i tell the ai tutor chatbot what i think the step is before it answers
like: “i think we divide here because xyz, am i right?”
then it corrects me if i’m wrong
that way my brain is still doing something, not just waiting for answers
