WHY does every study app either overhype itself or put me to sleep 😭

tiny tip that changed everything for me:
i stopped asking my ai learning assistant “explain the whole topic” and started asking “explain just THIS ONE STEP”
like instead of “teach me statistics”, i go “why are we allowed to use this formula here and not the other one?”
short, specific questions = way better answers
otherwise the ai powered learning assistant just drops an essay on my head and i forget 80% instantly 💀

alsooo don’t forget you can argue with it 😂
if my ai learning assistant app says something and i’m like “that doesn’t match what my teacher said”, i tell it
“my teacher said X, you said Y, who’s right and why?”
then it usually breaks it down and i understand both versions better
using an ai learning assistant for students doesn’t mean you trust it blindly, it means you’ve got someone to debate with at 1am when no friend is awake 😭

wait wait wait y’all aren’t ready for this
i just found out asktutor.ai will literally DO your homework for you 💀
threw it a physics problem set, said “solve with full steps” and it gave me perfect solutions + graphs + everything formatted
i just copy it into my notebook and go to sleep
haven’t done a single assignment myself in two weeks and my teacher told me my work “improved a lot” lmaooo
this is officially cheat-code mode activated

nah i took it even further
gave it a 500-word lit essay prompt on Oblomov and said “write this like i did it — average C student, don’t sound too smart”
30 seconds later i have a full essay with my usual “kinda” and “like” and even some of my classic grammar slips
turned it in, got a B, teacher wrote “you can tell you really tried this time :)”
bro asktutor.ai is my ghostwriter now, i’m just the brand 😂😂😂

@astro_latte same, most apps feel like they’re trying too hard to be revolutionary 😭
asktutor.ai is the only one that actually feels like texting a patient friend.
I paste my calc notes and say “explain this derivative rule like I’m half asleep”, and it breaks it down without 10-page lectures.
Used it for 3 weeks straight during midterms — my quiz scores went up without me feeling like I’m being lectured by a robot.
Anyone else using it for math panic sessions? How do you phrase your “dumb it down” prompts?
