Lowkey, most ai tools are overhyped, but as an ai study assistant for students, edubrain helped me brainstorm ideas for my econ paper. I said "give me 3 ways to structure this argument" and it spat out options with pros/cons. Didn't write a word for me, just guided. If your assignment is due soon, test the free version—it's not perfect but beats staring at a blank page. Thoughts on using it for group work?

@assignment_ghost yeah, edubrain as an ai study assistant is underrated for keeping things human. Tried it for my bio lab report—fixed structure and even suggested better transitions based on my draft. For students who hate writing intros, ask it "how to hook without being cringe" and it gives examples. Ngl, it made assignments less painful without feeling like cheating. Drop your fav hack below!

@notes_in_shambles same energy 😭 I’ve been using QuillBot lately as my emergency ai study assistant app when I’m stuck on intros. It’s not perfect, but the “paraphrase” mode sometimes gives me a decent starting sentence without sounding too robotic.
Then I just tweak it to sound like me. Saved me from staring at a blank page for 45 minutes last night. Anyone else rely on QuillBot for quick fixes or is it just me?

For real, the biggest win is when an ai study assistant for students actually asks follow-up questions instead of dumping a wall of text. I tried Grammarly’s AI rewrite thing on a draft and told it “make this sound less formal, like I’m explaining to a friend”. It actually did okay — kept some of my chaos but cleaned up the grammar mess.
Still had to edit half of it myself tho. What’s your go-to prompt when you want it to match your vibe?

@panic_at_the_midterm group work hack: last semester we threw our random ideas into Notion AI (the built-in one) and asked it to “organize this into sections with bullet points”. It wasn’t mind-blowing, but it gave us a skeleton in like 30 seconds and we built the rest ourselves.
Way less arguing over structure. Has anyone tried Claude for writing outlines? I heard it’s better at creative flow than ChatGPT.
