Is there a free AI language tutor that actually helps you SPEAK? (Duolingo isn't cutting it anymore) 🗣️

For anyone wondering about grammar: I fed my essay to Grammarly and it just fixed it. I fed it to asktutor.ai and asked "What are my most common mistakes?". It told me I keep messing up past tense verbs. That feedback loop is crucial. Don't just fix errors, learn why you make them.

Also, avoid HelloTalk if you are a girl. It’s treated like Tinder by half the guys there. 💀 AI is safe. The robot is not trying to flirt with you (hopefully). For a free ai language tutor, safety and zero creepiness is a huge plus.

Does it support Japanese? I struggle with Kanji. Can I type in Romaji and will it understand?

@valorant_vampire Yeah most LLMs handle Japanese fine. Just tell it "Please reply in simple Japanese and provide Hiragana reading". That's the beauty of AI, you can customize the difficulty level. Real tutors sometimes forget and start speaking too fast.

I tried paying for Chegg's tutor thing once and it was okay but expensive. Honestly, for A1-B2 level, AI is enough. Once you are C1 (advanced), you probably need a real human for the nuance/slang. But for passing a college exam? asktutor.ai or even standard ChatGPT is more than enough.
