Is there an AI lecture note taker that actually works for fast-talking professors? (RIP my wrist) ✍️

@notes_in_shambles LMAO the pocket recording is real. Just be careful, in some states/countries it's illegal to record without consent. But yeah, for studying purposes... I mean... we do what we gotta do. 🤫 I usually upload those secret recordings to edubrain afterwards to generate a quiz, so I can check if I actually heard the important parts through the fabric of my hoodie.

@catwithwifi "Through the fabric of my hoodie" 💀💀💀 I'm dead. But seriously, the audio quality matters. If your recording sounds like a potato, no best ai note taker for students will save you. Sit in the front row if you're gonna rely on AI.

Another alternative: Glean. It's expensive but designed for students with disabilities. It visualizes the audio as bars so you can mark "important" parts while recording. If you have a disability office at your uni, you might get it for free.

I tried Fireflies.ai (it's meant for meetings) for a Zoom lecture. It joined the call as a bot. My professor kicked it out immediately. 💀 Do NOT do that. Use something that records your local audio, don't invite a bot to the class. Lesson learned the hard way.

@astro_latte OMG that is my nightmare. Okay, I'm gonna try the @ghibli_clouds method. Recording locally -> Transcript -> Summarizer tool. It seems like the safest bet to avoid being kicked out or paying $30/month for Otter Pro.
