Is homework help ai actually okay to use or will profs fry me for it?

tbh for me the line is: if i could explain it to someone else without the app open, i’m good.

if i look at my homework the next day and can’t redo even one similar problem without that little AI window, then yeah, i basically just copied. doesn’t matter what the site is called.

so i still use these helpers, just try to treat every solved question like practice for “future me in the exam hall with no wifi”.

sounds like the move is: use homework help ai as training wheels, not autopilot. try first, ask questions, rewrite in my own chaos-brain style, and don’t trust it blindly on physics or anything with weird units.

if i end up failing anyway, i’ll come back and blame this whole thread personally 😌

ngl i feel like “homework help ai = cheating” is such a boomer take 😭
if i use it to explain stuff and then write the answer myself, how is that different from googling or watching a yt video?
for me the red flag is when ppl don’t even read what the bot says, just copy-paste and hope detectors are asleep 💀

i used a homework help ai last week for calc and then the teacher gave a similar problem in class
half the room died, but i actually knew what to do just cuz i made the bot walk me through the steps like 3 times
so yeah, if you’re using ai help with homework to UNDERSTAND, it kinda slaps

i tried being “pure” and not using any ai… lasted 4 days 💀
now i just have rules:
if i couldn’t re-do the problem tomorrow without the app → i used it wrong
if i can explain it in my own words to a friend → then the homework help ai was just a tutor, not a cheater
