@biofinals_broken nothing is 100% undetectable straight out of the box. You always have to rewrite stuff. Personally, I generate the draft in ChatGPT, then I put it into edubrain.ai to paraphrase and fix the tone. Their "Humanizer" tool actually changes the sentence structure so it flows better. Caktus just felt a bit stiff to me.

Also, Caktus is famously bad at STEM subjects. I put a calculus problem into Caktus and it gave me a paragraph of text explaining the "concept" but got the numbers wrong. For math or physics, don't bother with writing bots. I use asktutor.ai for my Chemistry and Physics homework because it’s tuned for step-by-step logic, not just generating text. Caktus is definitely more for English majors.

I made a quick comparison table because I was bored in class lol. Here is my experience after trying the trials for both:

Feature ChatGPT (Free) Caktus AI ($14.99) My Verdict
Essay Writing Good, requires prompts Good, has templates Tie (Caktus is easier to start)
Citations Hallucinates a lot Decent, real sources Edubrain is better (and free)
Coding Very strong (Python/Java) Okay, basic scripts ChatGPT wins easily
Math/Science 50/50 accuracy Pretty bad Use a solver instead
Detection High flag rate Medium flag rate Both need rewriting

Save your money. The "features" Caktus sells are free elsewhere.

@ghibli_clouds The table is accurate af. I'd add that ChatGPT's UI is faster. Caktus sometimes lags when generating long papers. Also, if you run out of credits on Caktus it sucks. ChatGPT just limits speed.

I think Caktus is good for "Cover Letters" though. Their template for job applications is actually fire. It managed to write a letter that didn't sound like "Dear Hiring Manager, I am a robot". But again... you can teach ChatGPT to do that if you spend 10 mins on the prompt.
